Taking advantage of this beautiful weather, our 4th graders brought their learning outside!
With chalk and creativity, Borton students applied their geometry knowledge by illustrating angles through vibrant chalk art. Hands-on learning like this makes math come alive and turns our campus into a colorful classroom. Way to go, 4th grade!
Our Kindergarteners wowed us at their Celebration of Learning with their incredible Animal STEM projects! After observing and researching real animals, students designed their very own “dream animals”—from girafforpions to bunnyarwhals and everything in between! Using creativity and problem-solving, they built costumes out of cardboard and brought their imaginative creatures to life.
A huge thank you to the PTA for making this event happen. Thank you also to everyone who came out to support our kids.
Students helped plant palo brea trees that will grow alongside them as they move from kindergarten through 6th grade – creating a lasting connection between their learning and our school environment. Along the way, they practiced real-world skills: digging with shovels, gently “tickling” the roots, and even “shaking hands” with their new trees as they welcomed them to campus.
Shoutout to Borton’s Cave Class for their amazing project driven by the question: “How does the cave environment shape the animals that live there?”
What made this project extra special was the way student voice and choice led the learning. Students created their own “need to know” questions based on their curiosity, built knowledge through research and exploration, and then shared their learning in creative ways they chose. From infographics and games to news scripts, each product showed their unique thinking and understanding.
